Props are your friend! This class is great for beginners or those working with shoulder or wrist injuries. In this practice you will need two blocks which help to equalize asana, as every body is different and every body gets into the poses differently. The blocks can help you access poses with greater ease, becoming almost like an extension of your arms by bringing the floor closer to you, creating a balance if you choose, offering support when needed, and at times even creating resistance in the pose. Props are your tools to help create a more balanced, accessible practice! Start supported in child’s pose, grounding into the breath and gently opening the hips. Move through Sun Salutations and standing poses using the blocks to lengthen the arms to bring the floor closer to you, also using the props to modify if you are working with wrist or shoulder injuries. Flow into supported shoulder stretches with the blocks and gentle supine restorative poses. Use the props as support in Savasana for a deep surrender.
