We all hold some type of tension or anxiety in some form in the body, it’s part of the human experience. Get rid of anxiety with this practice designed to soothe your mind, breathe, nurture, and release difficult emotions. Start in child’s pose, then take a gentle backbend to notice where you are holding anxiety, open the heart and release tension. Gently begin to activate the body, engage your core and find center. Move through sun salutations, creating your mantra and weaving it in throughout your practice, rewiring your brain to get present, consciously choosing to be free of anxiety, reminding yourself that you are safe. Flow through a standing, twisting, hip opening sequence then make your way down to the mat for a supported inversion. We finish by using a strap to release the hips, pelvis, hamstrings, IT bands, groin and any difficult emotions we have stored in this area. Settle into a sweet Savasana and carry your mantra with you as you step off the mat clear, connected, nurtured and present.
